Young adults in the Diocese of Southern Ohio took our yearly retreat together from December 20th-21st. The 21st was the feast day of Saint Thomas, and we had an amazing worship service in which we talked collectively about doubt, seeking God, and seeking to know oneself. That afternoon, we created this art piece. Karl Stevens painted the three canvasses, and retreat participants made frottage pieces in the style of Max Ernst, which we then overlay on the canvasses. The piece reflects, hopefully, the way that the separate pieces of our lives overlay the Christian story – and how that story speaks to us as we speak to it.
