Praxis is dedicated to the gathering of ideas, the articulation of brilliant thoughts, and the development of community. It’s a place to read great essays, listen to interesting podcasts and watch inspiring videos. It’s also a place to learn about all of the innovative events that are sponsored by the Diocese of Southern Ohio and organized by Praxis communities.
Praxis communities walk in the tradition of Christ and represent expressions of church outside the conventional mold. They include campus ministries, intentional communities, art galleries, prayer chapels, and groups that come together for meals, prayer, and creative endeavors. Praxis Communities are united by common practice, or praxis, which is the act of simply doing something – the putting of theory into action. These small groups and communities commit to walking the spiritual path together and sharing how faith practices transform their lives.
This is a place for that sharing, and for the theological reflection that emerges from action. The voices and personalities that you’ll find here are lifted out of our different communities and represent a range of concerns and hopes. We hope that your voice will add to the discussion as well. Respond to posts, send us e-mails, even compose essays, pictures, and videos for us if you feel called to do so. Because this site is a community in itself, and your presence is a gift to that community.
