One of the most important parts of community is feeling like you belong, knowing that you are accepted for who you are and whatever stage of life you find yourself in. Each stage of life is unique and being a young adult has its own experiences and challenges to navigate. Seeking your purpose, moving out on your own, finding people and perhaps a partner to walk through life with – all of these are easier if you don’t have to sort out all the big questions on your own. All of our Praxis Communities welcome young adults and have young adults involved on all levels of leadership. We really value communities of all kinds and people of all ages mixed up together learning and loving one another. However, if you are a young adult and are looking to connect with other young adults here are some groups you might check out.
Annual Young Adult Retreat
Praxis Communities and the Diocese of Southern Ohio host an annual weekend retreat and gathering for young adults. It is a time to hear stories, worship together, and build relationships. This is a time for reconnecting with God, friends, and your own story. Each year we tend to pick a theme and explore that topic through a great speaker or video. We often have opportunities to practice creativity, play games, and of course enjoy the beautiful and holy place that is Procter Camp and Conference Center. This is a great opportunity to become part of a network of young adults who are exploring faith and life together.
The 2016 Retreat will be held December 16-17. We begin on Friday night at 5 pm and will conclude on Saturday around 3 pm. This retreat is free for young adults ages 18-35. Event page and more information coming soon!

Calvary, Clifton’s Young Adult Group (YAG)
The Young Adults Group (YAG) at Calvary has engaged the music department at University of Cincinnati and modeled a way of pairing campus ministries with intentional communities. Working in partnership with the Missioner for Fresh Expressions, YAG has sponsored Flash Compline services and Halloween parking lot eucharists. The monthly coffee house that they host draws artists and musicians from throughout the Clifton area. YAG found its genesis in the Calvary choir, where many young adults and college students were singing. They began meeting for dessert after choir rehearsals, and their community grew from there.

Church of the Redeemer’s Young Adult Group
The Young Adults at Redeemer is a group of people generally between 18-35 who are connected to Church of the Redeemer in Cincinnati. They meet for meals, wine tastings, Red’s games, bowling, and other social gatherings. They have been hosts to a series of Beer and Hymns events (essentially a hymn sing at a local pub) that are lots of fun! They also have experimented with a Sunday morning conversation and class called Catalyst as a place to reflect on life, theology and build community.
