Past Feasts

Past Feasts:

Jane’s Home, May 2013

Dinner, conversation, and an informal Communion service to follow! This month join us for a feast at Jane’s home. We will reflect on what home is and how the places we call home launch us on life’s journeys. As we enter the summer season and set off on various pilgrimages and new adventures, join us to reflect on the communities and places we call home.
Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than any magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration. -Charles Dickens
What do you consider home? As pilgrims, how do we leave home in search of the unknown? How do our pilgrim experiences change or enrich our “home” life? How are we commissioned to go forth and how do we celebrate our homecoming? Join us for great food, conversations of consequence and a community to call home.

A. Maris Design, February 2013

This month join us for a feast at Maris Bernard’s Design Studio in Walnut Hills. Maris is an interior and exterior designer who also teaches at the Art Institute of Ohio. She has offered her studio and event space as a place where we can learn about and reflect on the design process.
We hope to unleash our imaginations and share creative experiments we might undertake as we walk in the way of Jesus. What does a Christian experiment or design look like? What ideas are you dreaming of that we could create together? Join us to meet new friends, eat great food, and ask “what if” questions together.

McGregor House, January 2013

This month join us for a feast at McGregor House, an intentional community in Mt. Auburn. We will meet members of this community who have dedicated themselves to service to their neighborhood and reflect together on the challenges and gifts of a life of service. What does a life of service look like to you? And who are our role models in living this way? Join us to meet new friends, eat great food, and  talk about service, community, and how each of us might make a difference in creating a more beautiful world.

Clifton Community Arts Center, December 2012

This month join us for a feast at Clifton Community Arts Center. We will have our feast in the second floor gallery space and reflect together on how art shapes community. How do you engage your creativity? How does the creative impulse draw us closer to God and one another? How can we respond creatively to God’s dream for the world? Join us to enjoy and talk about art, play, eat, and dream during this holiday season!

Beans and Grapes, November 2012

This month join us for a feast at Beans and Grapes, a new community gathering place in Pleasant Ridge. We will reflect on where we have experienced hospitality – places where we have been welcomed and places where we have unexpectedly found ourselves the host! Think of this as a “friends Thanksgiving” feast – a place to gather with friends new and old!

Imago Earth Center, October 2012

This month join us for an outdoor feast at Imago Earth Center, part of the Enright EcoVillage in Price Hill to learn about their neighborhood community and commitment to sustainable living. We will reflect on what practices and convictions shape our lives in community.

Chapel of the Resurrection, September 2012

Join us in welcoming the Floral House Interns for a cook out and potluck! We will gather at the Chapel of the Resurrection in Sayler Park, a new Fresh Expressions Community. We will reflect on the idea of a spiritual community and share in a Eucharist.
