Episode #48: Valentine’s Day, Marriage, and Divorce

This week Laurie and Karl talk about marriage in honor of Valentine’s Day.  Will getting married help poor people escape poverty?  There’s a lot of debate, that Annie Lowry lays out beautifully in this New York Times Magazine Article.  And if getting married causes poor people more hardship, is there a way in which the church can bless their marriages, and anyone’s marriages, without being an agent of the state?  We tackle all that in fifteen minutes and then get on to the very thorny Gospel for this coming Sunday, Matthew 5:21-37.  You can listen to the podcast here or by subscribing through the iTunes store.
