Foster Pinkney

About Foster Pinkney

Foster is a writer who will be entering the Masters program at Union Theological Seminary. He is an alumni of The Ohio State University and a member of The Downtowners Campus Ministry. As a young, hard-working student he had this to say about himself: "I have always had a deep love for literature as both a means to escape a limited world and as a way to connect with the mind and souls of people I will never have the opportunity to meet. I grew up in a place that was only composed of limits; when I first discovered that I could explore the Alaskan wilderness with Jack London or snub my nose at the greedy and powerful with Robin Hood, I couldn't help but make literature the center of my intellectual life." It's still true.

Students […] Words of My Mouth, Meditations of My Heart

A Homily on 1 John 4: 8-12, Delivered at ‘In the Garden,’ a Weekly Community Meal at Trinity Church, Columbus Lately, I have been meditating on the meaning of love and community. Ten years ago my mother died, and along with her my experience of love died also. I realize that many have never felt that kind of love, the kind that is completely selfless. The kind that endures through arguments and poverty and failed […] A Homily on 1 John 4: 8-12, Delivered at ‘In the Garden,’ a Weekly Community Meal at Trinity Church, Columbus
